Tokio Hotel offer their fans a costly camp
but with a lot of closeness to the stars

You have to be a real fan! 37 degrees in blazing sun. Burnt grass. Heated tents … fans can lap up to 3849 euros to celebrate this weekend in Ferropolis (district of Wittenberg) with Tokio Hotel. And they can not even post selfies outside …

The controversial “Summer Camp” because of the high ticket prices, opened Friday afternoon its doors. Who wanted to go in early (from Thursday it was possible) had to pay another 250 euros “upgrade”.

The Italian Anna Reboudo (45), mother of three children and a tax consultant, arrived from San Remo: “I did not miss a concert at the last Italian tour.” She pays 1249 euros. Not too expensive? “No way!”

There’s water in Ferropolis for free. Soft drinks cost extra. Ticket prices from 999 to 3599Euro (there’s a luxury teepee with service) for hardcore fans of the guys from Magdeburg. And they exist. The summer camp (500 participants) in the Baggerstadt was sold out even before the opening.

“We can not show photos because phones are not allowed to be used,” writes a participant on Instagram. “All disposable cameras get to shoot photos with the boys.”

Hinter die Welt – Tokio Hotel

“Ich muss durch den Monsun, hinter die Welt …” With these lines, four boys from Magdeburg in 2005 sang in the ears of the music world. At the age of only nine, the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz from Magdeburg decide to become famous. At the age of twelve, together with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing they found a band that conquered the world under the name Tokio Hotel. They are admired, laughed at, hated and worshiped … The film dives into the life of the band, accompanies Bill and Tom through deserted deserts of California and Gustav and Georg to the banks of the Elbe.

The success is gigantic: Platinum in 68 countries, sold-out concerts and Bill is becoming a style icon. At the beginning of the twenties, the twins – rich and famous – flee to Los Angeles in a private jet, leaving behind thousands of enthusiastic fans and a life behind the walls. They want their freedom back and do not know how and if it goes on.
The film delves into the life of the band, accompanies Bill and Tom through deserted deserts of California and Gustav and George to the banks of the Elbe. They talk about the price of success, the inseparability of the twins, about love, sexuality, home and music. For album production, the band gathers in the studio in Berlin and prepares world tours through South America, Europe and Russia. Undeterred, the band, which has already experienced everything, continues to pursue its childhood dream.
