Bill Kaulitz talked about his secret visit to Russia
Recently, the leader of the German musical band Tokio Hotel, Bill Kaulitz secretly visited Russia. The singer presented his solo public art project BILLY, in which Moscow and St. Petersburg was held a closed presentation of a mini-album BILLY-I’m Not Ok and photo-book Love Do not Break Me. Album release took place on 20 of May and is available for streaming only on the Internet. It includes 5 dance songs, telling about frustration, heartbreak and hope. On the song Love Do not Break Me frank musician released a video and a book of the same name, visually complementing the history of photography from the shooting.
Bill Kaulitz presented his book during a visit to Russia in October 2016, The BILLY project was successfully introduced in the US, Mexico, Germany, France and Italy. For its activities, Bill picks the special art spaces as positioning the project as the relationship of art, fashion and music. For example, for a presentation in Moscow the musician preferred club format, inviting guests into a night club, and the meeting was held in “Tsiferburg” entertainment center in St. Petersburg.
Despite the increased interest on the part of fans, the closed events only a limited number of people were able to visit. Bill chose to preserve the intimacy of the meeting, refusing media presence. Nevertheless HELLO.RU musician could ask a few questions and take pictures of the presentation.
Bill Kaulitz prepared a number of surprises for Russian fans. Just before the trip to Moscow, 27-year-old actor shocked the public with a new image – with a short cut and repainted in extreme color. Singer decided on the experiment for one of his new clips, which will be released in the near future. Guests of both capitals had the opportunity to see one of them – Not Over You.

During the event, the musician has signed each copy of the photo book and a vinyl copy of the album, eagerly photographed and answered questions from the audience, talking about his plans. In the spring of 2017, the band Tokio Hotel return to Russia with a new concert tour, Dream Machine, which is scheduled to cover 8 cities. Tickets for upcoming concerts are sold out with fans at high speed, despite the fact that the group is in no hurry to release a new album.
Tokio Hotel Bill hastened to reassure fans and asked to wait a bit:
Honestly, I do not know when that day comes. We are still working on new material. Most likely, the new album will be released in early 2017
The musician explained that in addition to the group and solo project he has plans to make his debut in the movie. Also, Bill and his twin brother Tom Kaulitz are in the process of writing the book.
We have too many projects right now. As I travel around the world with his solo project, my brother Tom as a producer is working in the studio on the other side of the world on new tracks, the other band members, Georg and Gustav also work like bees, although usually they are less involved. So be sure: in the tour we will have new material. The theme of the evening was a project in which Bill has put all his personal experiences, the fans, not wanting to upset the actor, not in a hurry to ask questions about his recent break-up with his second half! this the answer yet received:
Yes, I was very hurt by that relationship, it seemed to me that I finally found the one thing I was looking for so long. However, it was a good experience. When you give yourself completely to your loved one, is not forgotten. At the moment, I am free. And very happy! Of course, be happy – it is a choice. Of course, I can be sad or despair, to hang around the bars and have a relationship for one night, but I do not encourage it. The next morning I feel devastated, but it’s not something I would like. So I tell people that I’m happy – and I really feel it. I’m all right and I am not afraid to go through like that again.
The musician also said that he loved to visit night clubs. Immediately after the event, Bill went for a walk in the capital institutions, having been in the bar “Kamchatka” and ARMA17 club. In St. Petersburg, the singer also walked the streets at night.
I do not accidentally chose Moscow and St. Petersburg for his presentation. I’m in love with this city. I like the mentality of the Russian people. I have met some rude, but at the same time – you are very hospitable. I love the architecture of St. Petersburg. Driving through the city, I feel the history of each building. This is not Los Angeles! I would definitely like to stay here, or just to meet a frosty Christmas.
