The singer complains for compensation of 15,000 euros
the higher regional court Dresden decides on Thursday (6 August) in the controversy over the use of a photo of Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz for advertising purposes. This is the second instance on a compensation complaint against “Leipziger Volkszeitung”. Since in June 2008 a color photo of Kaulitz and its twin brother Tom had been used, the artists submitted a complaint for omission as well as on a compensation of 15,000 euros .
In the caption of the photo according to court, was for the offer of recruitment in the Urban School of Music in Leipzig. In addition it gave a reference to a 20-per cent discount for subscribers of the newspaper.
The regional court Leipzig had judged, the band members would be considered as “absolute persons of contemporary history”. A consent of the illustrations is not necessary therefore. Besides the information value of the picture is protected by the press right. Against the judgement the plaintiff had inserted appointment.
