Bill: We are at the set of the video shoot for our new single ‘Spring Nicht’. It is cold, we are outside at a parking lot, shooting the outdoor scenes. We already did some shooting yesterday all the scenes which play inside the building and it was really quite cold there, but here at the parking lot it is really really cold! But I think you have to make sacrifices for a really good video.

I think it is a special moment when you watch the finished video and the most exciting moment is the first cut because everything is quite mixed up and sometimes you think ‘Okay, what was the story for the video?’. You shoot the chorus, then the verses, then you shoot outside, then inside and somehow the result is a real story, which you just can not imagine while shooting it. The best thing is the first cut and knowing that the work paid off. It is bad though, when you watch it and you are disappointed.

How long are we here already? I arrived here at a quite relaxed time. I have to say…. I think it was about 5:30pm. It sounds quite relaxing, but I only went to bed at 7am. I slept a few hours and then we prepared ourselves a bit because we also have to practice for our new tour and then we came here and started quite soon. But we had some delays because it is really bad weather this time.

Gustav: Yeah Hi, it’s Gustav, the drummer. We’re in Berlin shooting our video and it is really cold and wet here at the parking garage, just like all of our other videos too…. ‘Monsun’ had been cols and wet. ‘Letzter Tag’ had been quite a bit hot. ‘Rette Mich’ had been really good, we shot that video inside. Then there was ‘Schrei’, which had been really hot too. Of course it is fun because I have more free time than at the other shoots, and besides that…. I am fine, except that I am a bit tired and I am freezing.

Georg: We are waiting…. we have a break, so we quickly got out jackets and wait until we can continue.

Bill: The other assholes are back at the hotel having a great time because they finished all of their scenes yesturday and have a free day today and are probably laughing at me and would probably love to spy on me freezing, with a hidden camera. They were happy yesturday because they finished quite quick. I think it was the most relaxing video shoot they ever had. They just had to freeze for a few hours…. and um, ya. But of course they will think of me.

We just shot a scene where I fell off, but of course not from up there, but just from a small height. In the video it will look like I jumped from high above. And some running scenes on the roof. I am thrilled, everything looks really cool with this light. I can already imagine what it will look like, but I think it is a completely different thing when the video is finished. But I’m thrilled, it is cool, especially the roof is really cool.
Just like at every video shoot, we did many things by ourselves. We wrote much of the stuff ourselves and every time you make things yourself, you have a vision of how you want it to be like and we wanted it 7th sense like. I play two parts, but you must not see it as two parts. It is just one Bill, but he has two parts. One part of him wants to give up, wants to jump. And the other one wants to rescue him and he notices that and tries to prevent him from jumping. That is the basic idea of the video.

Now we have to shoot several scenes…. With the video we want to emphasize the song and for that we need such a faaked up location
Yesterday we shot the band performances, shot different stuff at the parking garage, and today is about me slipping into another role so that we manage the great effect for the video. The two Bills separate and come back together, and that is what we want to shoot today. I don’t know what else is planned, but I think it won’t be easy.

No, luckily I never had to experience something like that myself. I think the worst thing ever is watching that something like that happens, that there are people who don’t have any purpose in life anymore and who don’t know how to go on, and with this song we want to say that it is not a solution to do that, to jump. And that you should never even think about it, and that you should always try to remember the good things in your life, even if it often seems really hard, and yeah, that is the basic idea of the song.
