pt I

Radioguy: What about you getting a diploma of hair styling?
Tom: We already have our hair stylist diploma

Radioguy: By the way, what happened to Bills hair?Theres a fertilizer problem, he should water them, theyre falling.

Bill: Indeed. When I didnt get to sleep, my hair falls a bit, and today you can see I didnt sleep much so my hair is a bit all over the place.

Nikos : You are here to talk about your new album which will be released the 5th of October in exclusivity: HUMANOID. Who worked the most on the record?

Bill: We worked with the same four producers with whom we already worked with before. The only thing new is that Tom and I co-produced the album this time. In fact, we recorded in several countries, in several cities but also in Germany.

Radioguy: And who was the one who played with the playstation the most during the recording?

Bill: It was the others, because evidently I had to sing in the two languages so I had more work to do.
Tom: Gustav and Georg rather played with themselves.

Nikos: They played with themselves?

Bill: Yes.

Radioguy: Guys, on the artistic side, what sort of mark would you like to leave?

Bill: For now, I dont know yet. Well see.

Nikos: Very good answer.Very realistic. When you arrive in France – or in other countries, because youre superstars today- I received you on TV, on Star Academy, today Im receiving you on the radioIts VERY rare to see so much loyal fans. Yesterday evening, at 10pm, there were already lots of girls from every part of France waiting for you. How do you manage that fame? Isnt that isolating you?

Bill: We are swimming in our success, kind of.And we never really have the time to think about it. Last year we had more time but were travelling a lot, were seeing the world and its been a while that we havent been in Paris so when we came yesterday we were happy to see those fans outside waiting for us.

Nikos: Do you have the time to enjoy your stay here or do you stay locked in the hotel?Do you have time to go enjoy a coffee wearing disguises maybe? What to you do?

Bill: – *interrupted*

Radioguy: A burp in German is the same in French so Im warning you we understand it. Its the second time that youre burping.
(Georg was pointing at Tom)
Nikos: Its Tom who burped
Radioguy: Spare us your gastric problems!

Bill: Whats sad is that, the last years we came here, we cannot go out shopping for example or wandering in Pariss streets. Its something I would like to do, but unfortunately, Its not possible anymore.

Radioguy: Youre really young. Did you find yourselves sexually?(meaning in sexual orientation)
Nikos: Dont be shy.I want the truth.

Tom: Well? Georg is still a virgin , and Gustav too obviously. Bill, personally I dont know and in fact, I only know about me.

Nikos: Bill, are you a virgin?
Radioguy: Its his astrologic sign, he will believe he is.

Bill: Indeed. I am a virgo.

Radioguy: He shares the same blood as Flo! Youre german.
Flo: Yeah, my father is german.
Nikos: Do you speak german Flo?
Flo: Ich spreche deutch XD

All: Whoaa!

Nikos: Go ahead, ask a question in German.
Flo: He certainly didnt get it because I dont understand what I said myself.

Bill: That was maybe said the wrong way, but it was not far.

Flo: Yes. They are kind of deprived of their youth, because its been a very long time that theyre making music. Theres a parallel with MJ who stopped having a life since he was five years old. Did they have compassion for MJ when he passed away, because we can see a bit of his life when we see theirs now.
Nikos: Its because you began very young, thats why.

Bill: Of course we felt compassion. It touched us like everybody. I received an SMS about his death in the middle of the night. It shocked us. It really touched me. I think the worst of it is all those documentaries about his life and his death. I would really like it if people leave him be, let him rest in peace and stop all of the talking about him.

pt II

Nikos: Bill, what is your football team? Who would defend at the world cup?

Bill: I have no idea. I cant even kick a ball in a way that it goes straight where it should. I cant say anything about it.

Radioguy: If we say Franck Ribery, does that ring any bell?

Bill: Yes.

Nikos: If I say Zinedine Zidane ?

Tom: Yes!I think his headkick was awesome! (referring to Zidanes headkick to Materazzi)

Radioguy: If I say Jérôme Rothen?

Bill: Yes.

Radioguy: Guys, youre a rock band. I would like to know what was the craziest thing you ever did in tour? Apart inviting a chick to drink candy up after 10pm. I mean, real hardcore stuff.
Nikos: Explain candy up for the lady.
Nikos and Radioguy: Its milk. A glass of milk.(Lady says alright in the background XD)

Bill: Well, thats the craziest thing we ever did on tour.Drinking milk after a concert.
*lady interrupted*

Nikos: (to radioguy) I think theyre making fun of you.
Radioguy: Theyre making fun of me in German!
Nikos: Do you guys read the gossips and magazines about you? Do you ignore it or does it touch you when they say something kind or mean about you?

Bill: We cannot avoid them, but on the other hand we dont go in the shops or bookshops either to buy them. What they write does not touch us nor do we have any interest in them.

Flo: Do the parents make a book with all the articles?

Bill: They stopped. At first they tried to do that, but now they just gave up since there were too much of articles.

Nikos: HUMANOID is seemingly your best disc. The most mature and the one you worked the most with after your confirmed success. How many songs did you have from the start of the album? You had a choice among how many songs?

Tom: We cant really say, but it was between 30 and 50 songs.

Nikos: And who decided?

Tom: Moi.

Nikos: Is it Tom or Bill?

Tom: Cest moi Tom. Moi.
Bill: We decided together. It was difficult and we fought a lot but in the end we decided together.

Flo: How is the democracy in Tokio Hotel? When there are two pros and two cons, it ends up in a battle or how does it go?

Bill: Yeah. Were hitting one another with the tables, the chairs

Nikos: Be careful. With the last group who did that: Oasis, it ended up with one crushing his guitar on his brothers head? That cant be good for the band.(Georg looked surprised because Nikos said he has scars on the head. He mixed up the names again)

Bill: Tom and I dont fight very often. But when we do, it gets serious so it could most likely happen if I had a guitar in my hands.

Nikos: Merci guys!

Bill: Merci!

Q: Is a new album synonym of stress for you?

Bill: We feel less pressure now because it’s our 4th album, and so we have nothing more to prove. This album is released in many countries at the same time. There are two versions, an English one, a German one. It’s both very exciting and stressful for us because it’s the first time. But we try to relax and focus on our first goal, which is to make good music and that people keep enjoying what we’re doing.

Q: The desire of a musical change?

Bill: For this album, we wanted to produce something different and evolve musically. We performed the same songs for one year and it’s true that even we were bored to hear and interpret them. We had to move on. We wanted a different sound from the eternal guitar-bass-drums. So we tried lots of different things. But what’s really new in this album is that Tom and I co-produced it.

Tom: We went to the studio and we tried new things, original sounds for us. There has not been some precise influences. We wanted to make a new album and it’s true that the sound is different. But it still is TH.

Q: Was this album inspired by science fiction?

Bill: To be honest, we’re not science fiction fans. We simply thought that the word “humanoid” fitted us and that it described quite well our lives and what we are. So, we had chosen this title for the album before we even started to write the songs.

Bill: Success is not something you get used to. Sure we’re really happy to see our fans waiting for us outside. We worked hard and for quite a long time on this album. And when we arrived, two days ago, we were delighted to see that our fans were there in front of the hotel.

TH fan Outside: I think I would need to write a book to describe all I like about them. They are real I think they are… That’s a band that wasn’t casted, they knew each others for a long time as kids and who realized a dream together without expecting it. They’re real, the fact that they’re my age, what they sing and say fits with a certain period of my life… They evolved like I did in fact. So after a while, it’s sentimental, we get attached, and it’s a little like our favorite (ndlt: chouchou in French, hard to translate).

Bill: Fans are really important for us in every country. They always have something special. But it’s true that apart from Germany, we played most of our shows in France.

Tom: French fans always welcome us greatly.

Bill: They are here right when we arrive and it’s true that they have always supported us.

Finland

Bill: Well, we never missed going to school.

Georg: Nope.

Bill: Well, I’m really glad that this time school is over. That was the worst time of my life. Yeah well, one really does miss the normal life sometimes. Definitely.

Well, of course it’s really like that, erm, that one does miss out on many things. I mean, luckily we were – Tom and I, we’ve been very precocious for example and even before we became successful aged 15, we had experienced everything that one probably doesn’t do until 18 years old or so.

Erm, but of course one misses normal life and one gives up everything! Thus we’ve started a completely new life. However, we get so, so much in return for it and it’s definitely worth it.
