Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz was involved in a car accident last week, totaling his Audi Q7 on the Germany’s Autobahn, he tells Bild.

The 20-year-old rocker, who crashed the day before the MTV Europe Music Awards and still rocked out at the show, spoke about what happened and how he’s feeling now.

On what happened: “I was sitting alone in the car and was on my way to Berlin. I am basically a very careful driver, never had an accident and never go too fast. Suddenly a car pulled in front of me without signaling. While I tried to swerve, I lost control.”

Bill hit the guardrail trying to stop his car.

On how he’s doing: “I think about the accident every day. I think it will be a while before I can get over it. It goes deep. I thought I wouldn’t make it out alive. I’ve never been this close to death!

It’s a miracle that I’m still alive. In moments like that we notice what is really important and to cherish one’s life anew.”

Glad he’s okay!

Bill Kaulitz: “A miracle that I’m still alive”
– He crashed his car into the guardrail

This horror accident has him marked for life!

The 20-year-old totalled his white Audi Q7 autobahn in Germany last week on his way to Berlin.
The damage: 80,000 euros! Reason for the crash: A transporter cut the singer off.

Police spokesman Niels Borgmann (31) of Schwerin told BILD: “We can confirm at this time that there was an accident between an Audi and a Mercedes van. Involved in the accident were a 20 and 45 year-old man. Neither was injured.”

Bill spoke exclusively with BILD about the crash and how he survived.

The singer: “I think about the accident every day. I think it will be a while before I can get over it. It goes deep. I thought I wouldn’t make it out alive. I’ve never been this close to death! It’s a miracle that I’m still alive. At such moments, you realize what is really important and you learn to cherish one’s life anew,”
What exactly happened in the afternoon?

Bill: “I was alone in the car on my way to Berlin. Normally I’m a very careful driver, have never been in an accident and never speed. Suddenly another car pulled into my lane without indicating. While dodging, I went into a skid.”

Bill stepped on the brake, tried in his Audi coming to a halt. Then he slammed into the barriers.

Bill: “In a moment like that you only try to save your life. With another car it could have ended differently. I didn’t even get a scratch.”
What did Bill do, as was the car?

Bill: “I tried to get out of the car immediately. I pushed open the door as hard as I could and called the police on my cell. I was very upset and in shock. The police tried to calm me down by phone,”

Bill’s relatives immediately went to Bill to Berlin in order for him to be there and calm him down.

Bill: “My brother Tom was insanely worried. I saw the images in front of my eyes over and over again and didn’t sleep at all. Everyone supported me and tried to make me feel better.”
Bill tells Bravo: “This was one of the worst days in my life. Luckily I was strapped on. However, I still need for a while to process. But since this accident I am every day glad about the fact that I’m still alive!

Despite the shock experience, Bill Kaulitz came the next day at the MTV Awards in Berlin, received the award as contrary to “Best Band”.

Tokio Hotel producer and manager David Jost told BILD: “We strongly advised Bill to cancel the appearance at the MTV Awards because of the accident. But even though the accident was a huge shock for Bill, he insisted on making the scene too.”

Early next year, Germany’s most successful rock band is back on the road on German roads, but this time not in the car, but in a giant tour bus. On 26 February to give them a big concert in Oberhausen on 28 February, they play a concert in Hamburg.
