Through the years:
Tokio Hotel Hard to believe that the force Bill Kaulitz and his Twin Brother Tom
had established themselves already in 2001.
Since then a lot has happened.
This incredible force was already, at a very young age in 2001. At that time Bill and Tom were just 13 years old, when they founded Tokio Hotel. Nobody would have probably thought it would be one of the most successful bands in Germany.
2005 was the year for Tokio. Durch Den Monsun is in the starting blocks and heard, thanks to the Internet. Each of the four guys, Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav, pass with the track through the roof, that there’s no holding back then.
Especially vocalist Bill Kaulitz ensures large eyes with fans and media. His voice is high and youthful, his appearance very androgynous. Hairspray, eyeliner, painted fingernails, Bill is the incarnation of popular manga ideals and his fans adore him for it.

Bill and Tom grew up with thier music madman stepfather in Leipzig and finally met Georg and Gustav in Magdeburg. Bill shortly after taking part in the children’s version of “Star Search” and has but apparently little buck on casting shows, known at that time as “full sleeve”. Interesting that he sits now in addition to Dieter Bohlen juror Bank on the American Idol.
What then happened is history. Teen magazine, screaming fans and plenty of live and promo appearances catapult Tokio Hotel to the top of the charts.
Slowly but surely Tokio Hotel creeps the hype well beyond German borders: their debut album “Schrei” in France In September and there climbs up to place 19 – A Record: never had a German band managed to climb up the top 20 on the French charts with a debut album in the first week.

Finally, they conquered even the hearts of their American fans. And while they were still relatively scandal-free…. Especially Bill’s career has grown out passed the music. Model and member of the jury is now in his impressive resume.
After Bill and Tom had to move to L.A. in 2010, because the fan mob in Germany for them was intolerable. It has become musically quiet around Tokio Hotel. Supposedly, the guys are working on new material, it is still uncertain when it will be released…
