Gustav´s Dinner Table

This is usually how Gustav’s dinner table looks after he’s had a ravenous appetite and killed two kilos of strawberry ice-cream and a giant cake. It probably didn’t even occur to him that he would start a trend . ;- ) Seriously, you don’t need to like this piece but it’s definitely a  cool idea.

RDV Musique

How are you?

Bill: We’re pretty well. We’ve been standing for a long time, but we’re always in a good mood.

The new Tokio Hotel?

Bill: The new album is a bit more electronic and there are a lot of other influences, but it’s something that came naturally during the production. It wasn’t planned or anticipated; it came like that. And I think it’s a normal evolution. It’s still tokio hotel, but the sound has changed a little.

And your French?

Bill: je t’aime

Tom: ça va bien…

Your lyrics?

Bill: The lyrics aren’t 100% autobiographic!

Tom: After all, it depends on what’s called a true autobiography. But even when we speak of things that we’ve experienced, it’s linked to what we described in our songs. These are issues that affect us, that we are not insensitive to. And even if it’s something we’ve not lived, we have thought and felt about it. So they are autobiographical!

A very visual city?

Bill: This album is as we wanted it to be. There’s electronic sounds, and we experimented with many others too. And image, we immediately thought of robots! Same for our video. So you see me on a motorcycle in an urban city when writing an album, as the main display. It’s already known what our clips and everything will look like. And when you write, you put all these pieces together one after the other and the end result is the long awaited album.

Stage in France for 2010?

Tom: Nothing is concrete yet. We haven’t finalized all the plans. But what is sure is that in the beginning 2010, we’ll go on tour. Certainly there won’t be any cars or motorcycles in shows! But it will really keep in mind the CD during this tour. After all, whether we will be on stage in France? We will.

The Show?

Bill: It’s simple, the show will be like the album… MAGNIFICENT!

The Acoustic concerts?

Tom: We really love big concerts! That’s why we love having a LOT of fans to fill large venues because we love playing in a packed concert. We need this connection with the public, but maybe one day we will make an acoustic tour. It’d be fun!

Bill & Tom Co-Producers

Bill: We like to control everything and do all ourselves. Whether it’s the cover, we love to ‘touch’ everything. It’s our group and we do not want someone else to decide for us. We had also wanted to participate a little more in the development of the CD. We dove in and really worked on the production of the album. It was very important to us to have a say in the mix among other things. So that’s why we wanted to co-produce “Humanoid”. We discovered a new facet of our business and I think that in the future it will continue like that.

Yama vs Geisterfahrer

Bill: We all thought it’d be nice to have a feminine voice on this track and vary the rest of the album. Her voice was perfect for “Geisterfahrer” and I thought it was a good idea because she has the voice of an angel! even a little fragile and I thought it fitted perfectly with the song. She brings the emotion in this song. Her tone is opposed to what “Geisterfahrer” has, what he thinks, what he sees, what he says and what he sings.
